Claudia Babirat is passionate about the environment, and has devoted her life to sharing its beauty with others.  She’s hit on a winning combination, working for the Department of Conservation as Community Outreach Coordinator during the day, and producing award-winning documentaries in her spare time.

In 2011 Claudia seized the opportunity to film and take part in the Macquarie Island Pest Eradication Project, which aims to rid rabbits, rats and mice from the Australian-governed World Heritage Site – making it the world’s most ambitious pest eradication programme in conservation history.

Claudia produces quirky, people-orientated films that guarantee the evening will be informative and entertaining.  Come and listen to what it’s like to live for a year on a remote island with a bunch of scientists, a lot of penguins, and being a tour guide to the occasional tourist ship while shooting film and rabbits!

The Caselberg Trust is thrilled that Claudia has agreed to premier her documentary and lecture as our fundraising “Art meets Science” event at:
